I am directed by the Comptroller and Auditor General to

transmit, for the information of the Earl of Elgin, a copy of

the Annual Account of the Treasurer of Hong Kong for the year

1905, to which is appended the certificate of the Comptroller

and Auditor General, together with a copy of the Statement of

Assets and Liabilities of the Colony on 31st December 1905.

I am at the same time to present the Report of the Comp-

troller and Auditor General on the Account, and to request

that the Detailed Statements of Revenue and Expenditure,

transmitted herewith, being in original, may be returned.
